VALUE ADDITION AND QUALITY FOOD TRADE

FtF IAM has onboarded Food Safety Associates (FSA), a private consulting firm to build the capacity of food processors on food quality and
standards. On Friday, May 26, the activity held an inception meeting at the FSA office in Kampala to kick off the project. FSA will leverage her industry experience and past engagement with FtF IAM to adapt and scale the provision of technical assistance in Agro-processing, quality standards, value addition, and food trade to Agri- Small, Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Resilience Zones. Through this partnership, 25 Food Processors sourcing raw materials from FtF IAM resilience zones (Karamoja sub-region and refugee hosting areas of
Palabek, Nakivaale and Rwamwanja) will improve their technical, business, and production capacities, and at least 6 will acquire the Uganda National Bureau of Standards (UNBS) recognized quality mark.
